This was Iva’s first “real” Independence Day. Last year we were still coming to terms with the fact that we had this week-old being to keep alive. It’s also worth noting, this is the first use of video on this site.
The Fourth means a lot of things to a lot of people. For me (dadblob) it means time spent with family, and ideally burning something spectacularly.
Today we achieved both with little effort. Neither mom or I felt particularly great, and with the weather being iffy we didn’t really want to go anywhere. So we had a good time at home, tried some new play things, and then watched fireworks right before bed.
Here is hoping yours was as good, or better. Perhaps next year we’ll feel healthy and be more ready to participate in the various community events that are on.
