As we wrap up Thanksgiving, we begin preparing for the year’s climactic end with Christmas. This will be Iva’s first – the day before she turns 6 months old.
For us, the first event is the selecting of a wider family Christmas tree. We won’t have our own this year, partly because there is no space and partly because there is no point – Iva isn’t old enough to remember, and we likely won’t be spending much time at our home for the holiday. That left just one tree to find, one for Grandma and Grandpa’s house. One for the living room, one which was appropriately tall (but not too tall), that was wide (but not too wide) and that was green through and through.
In reality, Iva slept through most of this event. Next year will likely be much more interesting as we chase her through snow and ice at the tree farm.
A quick shout out as well, to Ratliff’s Christmas Tree Farm where the family have been getting trees for as long as I’ve been here, and a few years before that as well.
