90’s Parents

We remember Rugrats, and think of them every time our kids look at us through their baby gates.

Poor Iva, both of her parents are 90s kids. We grew up with Rugrats, and Doug, and Arthur. We grew up with No Doubt (who’s debut hit album, Tragic Kingdom, came out 20 years ago this October), the Spice Girls, the Backstreet Boys, Five and N’Sync, with Hanson. We saw The Lion King at the cinema when it was brand new, we saw the demise of the VHS in favor of DVD (and now the demise of DVD in favor of Bluray). We knew about vinyl records, cassette tapes and compact discs, our parents had fairly eclectic collections of all three — including my parents having am Overture for Vacuum Cleaner on record.

I’m sorry, Iva, I’m so, so sorry.
